Volunteers are essential to us
We have opportunities for volunteers at the Carousel. Whether you are interested in helping out at one of our events for a few hours, helping with fundraising or would like to commit to helping us staff the Paragon Museum as a docent for an afternoon, we would love to hear from you.
Museum Volunteers
The Paragon Museum is open only on summer days when we have volunteer docent support (see current hours here). The docent will be provided with a history of Paragon from its opening in 1905 to its closing in 1985. As a docent you will greet people as they come in, share memories with them and are generally an ambassador for the Museum and Carousel. You may sign up for a shift weekly, bi-weekly or even once a month. Museum shifts are 1 pm -3 pm, 3 pm - 5 pm or 1 pm - 5 pm.
Fundraising Committee
Fundraising appeals are held throughout the year as we are a small non profit and depend on the generosity of our supporters to enable us to operate the Carousel. This committee has a large range of responsibilities from overseeing the mailing of an appeal, stuffing the envelopes and solicitation of donated goods for raffles and silent auctions.
Carousel Operations
Periodically throughout the Carousel Season we will need volunteers at the Carousel to assist Staff Members. This could include taking ride tickets, helping with a Birthday Party or even helping to operate the Carousel. All training will be provided by out Safety Coordinator at the Carousel.
Events Committee
The Events Committee is a hands on group of volunteers who assist at the Carousel during an event. Committee members would be helping on an as needed basis depending on the event.
